This training is designed for entrepreneurs who want to put agroecological principles to practice in their business.Through practical tools and assignments, this course supports them to define, test and pitch their agroecological business ideas. The course was originally designed for the participants of the YALTA Business Accelerator. Although the Accelerator has ended, all young agroecological entrepreneurs can follow the training. Experienced business and innovation trainers from Bopinc and experts in agroecology from YALTA will guide you through the sessions, and show inspirational examples of accomplished entrepreneurs.

YALTA developed a handbook on agroecology to further support the implementation of agroecology among youth and other actors. The handbook elaborates on the basic practices including agroecology farm planning and design, soil and water conservation, soil fertility management, and pest and disease management. Where possible, this is illustrated through examples of YALTA work with youth as well as through pictures and clip arts to emphasise the suggested practices/technology. The Handbook can be used by anyone intending to implement or facilitate/train on agroecology farming.

Twice a year, blueMoon selects up to 10 startup teams of two to three entrepreneurs into their highly competitive 4-month incubator program in Addis Ababa. The Agroecology Accelerator aims to support existing agroecological businesses (in business for 2-3 years already) to grow and accelerate their business and impact, by providing access to training, expertise and financial support, for example through a revolving loan fund. The Regeneration Fellowship is looking for entrepreneurial talent, aspiring founders of regenerative and agroecological startups to join the first cohort and build a business from scratch, based on a deep understanding of the food system.
